Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I have a facial?
If you can - monthly is best. However, if time and money are not on your side, try at least to have a maintainence facial at the start of every season. Your skin is constantly undergoing changes and most of you will notice the drying effects in winter. So why not do your skin a favour and look after it best you can. It's going to be with you a long time! Your skin will love you for it.
What can I expect with a facial peel?
During the peel itself, you will experience various degrees of tingliness, depending on the peel that has been chosen specifically to your skin type. The peels differ in strength within a range of 15%-33%. Your skin will be assessed as to which will be the most suitable and effective peel. This is left on the skin for a MAXIMUM 8 minutes, then neutralised and removed using cold compresses. After removal of the peel, you will feel a tightening sensation. You will see and feel an immediate result with a wow factor. This will have a lasting effect for up to three weeks! Peels are great to have just before you have that big night out or want to look like Cinderella without turning back into a pumpkin.
What can I do for cracked nails?
Be sure to have regular manicures and pedicures (monthly or bi-monthly), as a prevention is always better than a cure. Use a good cuticle oil. This will ensure your nails retain moisture and become more supple. Another suggestion that I offer is to try taking Zinc - one tablet a day is extremely beneficial, not only for nails but hair and skin as well.
How long will it take for a Hair Colour and Cut?
Usually a colour and cut is a 2 hour appointment. If you have long thick hair it could be 2 1/2 hours. You have our hairstylist Kelly all to yourself for this appointment, so no time is wasted with other clients.
What do I need to do before I have a spray Tan?
- Full body ex foliation - NO moisturiser, underarm spray, makeup or perfume! - Bring loose clothing to wear home after treatment
Should I wash my hair before an Up do hairstyle?
The hair needs to be a little dirty for an up do so that the bobby pins don't slip out. Washing your hair the morning or night before is ideal. If you have really oily hair, the morning before should be OK for an afternoon appointment. Do not apply conditioner to the roots, mid lengths and ends only.
How can I manage my oily hair?
The most effective way to avoid an oily scalp is to wring out most of the water in your hair after you have shampoo-ed it thoroughly. Only apply your conditioner to the mid lengths and ends. Putting conditioner straight onto the scalp is putting unnecessary moisture onto your scalp.
